The Addams Family!
Thank you to our wonderful community for getting involved in our FIRST EVER school holiday program! The kids came so incredibly far in just THREE DAYS and we couldn’t be prouder..
Day one started with our ice breaker games which gave our kids an opportunity to start building new friendships and shake off their first day nerves, while our staff could get to know the kids and cast the Addams Family! We then spent the rest of the day with Mikaela our vocal coach, learning our group songs for the Addams family performance.
Day two was dance day! Now that the kids are settled and having the most fun it was time for them to learn staging and choreography to go with the songs they learned on day one. We had some star movers in the mix!
Day three.. Performance day! The kids spent the morning finalising staging and perfecting their scenes. After lunch the kids thought about their characterisations and we discussed how their characters would present themselves, which led us into costumes and makeup. By 2:45pm parents and friends were arriving to see our star performers and the excitement was kicking in!
3pm.. Performance time! The kids nailed their Addams Family performance and proved to themselves and their community what confident kids they can really be. Wrapping up our three days with some celebratory refreshments on the balcony was the perfect way to end an amazing program.
Siren aims to be a supportive community atmosphere above all else. We fundamentally believe in the power of theatre and performance as a vehicle to produce confident children who are then able to utilise those skills into adulthood (whether that be for a life in the arts or not).
Thanks again to everyone who was willing to get involved with the program. We can’t wait to do it all over again in October for our ⭐MATILDA⭐ Theatre Program.
